Alex Kent

Alex Kent has been involved in the creative arts since childhood and started taking photography “seriously” after his dad handed down the well-known Canon AE-1 when he graduate high school. After taking a few classes at the AR Arts Center, he decided to study the arts in college and earned a BFA in photography and graphic design in 2005 from UCA. Shortly thereafter Alex started teaching classes for Bedford Camera & Video in 2006 and developed over 25 different types of workshops over the next decade.

Since then he has led classes for UCA, U of A for Medical Sciences, Jostens, Starlight Ridge Retreat Center, AR Master Naturalists, Mid-America Photography Symposium, the E.A.S.T. Initiative, as well as public & private schools and camera clubs across AR, OK, and MO. Other than photography and teaching, his passions lie in spending time outdoors and travel. Some notable adventures are a 90 mile river trip down the Chulitna and Susitna in AK, hiking the Inca Trail in Peru, and a 280 mile, 24 day Colorado River Trip.
